Location: Phoenix AZ | I'm in Japan right now. I won't bore you with my ukulele stories (although I did have a great little jam session with a guy at the Kiwaya Ukulele Museum in Akasuka, Tokyo).
Anyway, I found the John Lennon Reissue 1651-7 for sale at Appolon Music. You won't believe this, $3030. US Dollars !!!!! And the dealer says he has sold quite a few of them. I didn't have the heart to tell him what I paid from Al.

Location: Phoenix AZ | Here's the link to the Japan shop. Scroll down for the 1651. I think it says he has an allotment of 6. But he told me he had sold "quite a few". I guess in Japan quite a few means a few more than none and a few less than six. Case is included.

Notice that CL30's and Al Demeola's are also about $3000. Which by comparison would mean that he's getting a pretty good premium for the scarcity of the JL.

PS, Here's a nice shot of the colors of ukes available in Japan (not US). Damn if that sunburst doesn't look just like my 1537. The beige one is really nice looking for Adamas crowd.

Location: Phoenix AZ | Yeah, we've had that discussion before about outies versus innies. I'm not sure I have a preference. It's kind of like circumcised vs. non-circumsized. Does it really matter?
Dave
PS - Get ready, I predict this thread is about to take a strange twist. Luckily it's the weekend and hopefully that means Cliff is away from his photoshop computer. |

Time for a good all-purpose comedy answer I feel...
"Dave, if you don't know by now, I really don't think we should do this."
Ba-boom.
