Thanks for all the great messages. Schroeder, definately, as the funds pick up and bills get caught up i'll invest in some recording equipment as well as that 6 string ovation i've always wanted. The schedule of work 3, off 3 work 3 off 3 will leave me some great creative time. so i hope to lay some tracks down again.

Steve..Three on, three off sounds great. I have a couple fireman friends on that rotation. It gives them lots of time for other projects.

cruster...BluesSailor's factory makes boats 40' an over. Thats a lot to trailer and your town of Midland is kinda...well.. MID-LAND. Maybe he should just dock that boat behind my house for a summer..or two.

And...I really like the Waffle House. We had one up here when I was a kid. It replaced the Big Boy as the place to hang out. There are none in Michigan now.

We will be making a 32 and 34 foot model as well. Still a lot to haul around. Better leave it at home. Of course you all are free to stop in anytime.

(now where did I put that address????)

I almost bought a Cobalt, once.
At the last minute, another dealer came up with a fully-loaded Maxum "leftover" that was just too good a deal to pass up . . .

Back in '77 Cobalt was a new company. A well made boat for sure. The twenty some footer I was looking at had a power center windsheild section that went down with with a flip of a switch. Because it was about 2k less and for it's re-sale value, we went with a SeaRay instead.

You just need to get a tow vehicle that's big enough. I mean...how do they get them from the factory to the dealer, right? ;) I've seen semis hauling four or five 20' Four Winns down I-75. One forty footer can't be much heavier.

Also, Mid-LAND is about 5 minutes from Sanford Lake (a reservoir, really) and only about 20 minutes from the world famous Saginaw Bay. ;)

Are you on the lake down there? I'll bet you're up in the Colony Tower, eh? :)

Steve,

Congratulations on the new job. :)

Are you any where near Mayberry? If you are perhaps Barney Fife could be a help as you adjust to the new job. :D

BluesSailor I live about 1/2 hour east of Knoxville maybe we could get together and pick a few once you get settled in. You will love East Tennessee, (except for the traffic).

GGG,

We are looking for a home in either Maryville or Oak Ridge. Probably end up in OR because my kids like the High School there the best. I'll be working out in the Tellico West Industrial Park in Verona, not too far from you.

Yeh, I'd like to get together once the dust settles a bit. It may be a bit one sided because I've only been playing a short while and I've got a LOT to learn yet.

Steve,

Sorry to have hijacked your thread. It seems like your life is returning to some state of normalcy. Past health issues are either controlled or resolved, you've got your 12 string back, and you are moving into a new career where you can get ahead a little faster. All good!

I'm only a few hours to the east of you right now and have been looking for an opportunity to meet you when I was over your way, but it never seemed to work out. Too bad really. I'm sure, it would have been a good time.

Peace

Good to hear at least two good stories! I work on boats too!

But don't worry about cost, you're paying for them already! You can get them in any color you want as long as its Navy Gray!

Hey Blues,
It's never too late. Would love the opportunity to get together. While my life heads back to a somewhat normal direction, It will take us a while to juggle and get back on top with the stuff that seems to get behind from time to time.
Hopefull though, within 6 months things should be churning right along. Maybe quicker since they will allow me overtime and holiday pay as well.
Hey Mike W,
Funny you should mention Mayberry and barney Fife.
The friend who steered me toward the job works as a detective fro teh department. In his spare time one of the things he does is appear as a Barney Impersonator.
He has the whole uniform, and a friend of him plays gomer. They appear with very convincing replica of the Mayberry Squad car.
He makes a small fortune on the side doing this and has also appeared on some regional comercials in character.
Mayberry of course, was based on Mt. Airy, NC where Andy Griffith grew up. The town in places reminds you of Andy Taylors Fictional town.
