Location: Warren,Pa. | I have this ongoing project of "tweaking" my 2 guitars. My Std.Elite LX NEB needs one more thing (maybe). I replaced the chrome tuners with gold ones. Now I want to put either Ebony or Rosewood buttons on it. Hard to decide what I should do. The headstock overlay is gloss black. The fingerboard is rosewood. I'm leaning toward the Rosewood because it's unusual. Ebony buttons are much more common. Would the Rosewood look funny next to the black headstock? Would either choice look great? Any opinions? Location: Tennessee | Have you seen the amber buttons that Takamine puts on their higher-end guitars? I bet they'd be very nice with the NEB and very unusual on an Ovation. Otherwise, I'd go for ebony. |

Hey, you got to justify it somehow! |

Location: NW NJ | Because I've seen ebony buttons, and I've never seen rosewood, I'd go for the rosewood ones - but John, where would you start to even look for 'em?
Of course cwk2's idea makes alot of sense ... |

Location: NW NJ | Beautiful buttons, John. I'm glad I still like the pearl ones I put on mine - I'd hate to have to choose. Makes cwk2's idea make even more sense! |

Location: Warren,Pa. | Just got an email back from the guy on price...$65+$5 shipping. That's a LOT more than Ebony from StewMac. I'm gonna get the Rosewood ones, but not till I can squirrel away the money w/o Maryanne feeling the pinch. He's 4-6 weeks out. I'll get them in time for the tour, though :) |

Location: Illinois | I GOT YOUR ROSEWOOD:
My dad has an old five octave marimba with Brazillian Rosewood tone bars. Maybe he'd be interested in 'parting it out' for guitar tuner buttons? :D |
