So, I thought I'd pass this along from the Lowden board:
They are definitely missing the accentuated overtones which I think causes Newtones to often be described as bright. The "Lowden sound" covers for this a bit, but I don't think I would be putting a set on a M@#$%^ any time soon. (Of course, if I were a M@#$%^ fan, I would probably not be looking for overtones anyways.) |

Location: Hicksville, NY | I tried a Lowden for the first time last month, when I visited Mandolin Bros. After strumming a couple of chords and a few fingerpicking here and there, I was speechless. All I could say was, "wow". :) |
