I just bought an Italia Strap off ebay for my bass. They are very nice not overly fancy, and a good price. Maybe the plan might be to buy straps then find the best deal to have them imprinted-embossed- or personalizrd

I've bought numerous full-grain Leather G-Straps with sheep skin padding from Jodi Watson (aka GuitarStrap @ eBay) with Atlas Guitar Strap...

She is Super Duper to work with and may very well be the highest quality/value of custom strap dealers we could find!

I'll check on some bulk details and get back to y'all...in the meantime - here's a sample:

...full-grain Leather G-Straps with sheep skin padding...

I parsed that as 'G-strings with sheep skin padding.' 'Nuff said.

I just got this responce from "Axestraps"...

(I don't have a manufacturing facility; each strap, is carefully assembled by me as it is ordered. In the case of hand-embroidery, several hours of labor are added to each strap; the cost increases thusly. You're probably looking at $150 per strap and up depending upon the design. For hand-embroidery I cannot offer volume discounts, since each creating each strap is very labor intensive. It would take me many months to complete a volume order of this type. )

Nice straps I'm sure...but out of our price range.

My aunt runs a small embroidering business in Santa Fe. She puts the design into her computer and then downloads the info to some fancy stitching machine. I would guess that many strap makers have the same kind of setup where they can create artwork, or accept artwork via email/cd, and then apply it to a variety of different straps, or in our case, a multitude of straps. Axestraps is hopefully not representative of what's out there.

The llama has become kinda/sorta the unofficial OFC mascot. Came up a few years ago (you can search the history once the archives are back up) and has apparently been a running joke since. One or two actual live llamas made an appearance at the '05 Tour (again, once the archives are back up, see the '05 Tour pics). It's pretty much all in fun but word is you have to keep a very close eye on Cliff when he's around one...

You'll catch up with a little more time around the Board.

Actually, you would be better off NOT watching when Cliff is around one!

Although, if you want to watch, I've heard there's an 'underground' DVD making the rounds.

I just purchased an Atlas, 2 inch leather/padded strap. It's very nice, great quality. I really like it. :)

Now, about the frolicking Llama... Will that be stamped or embroidered?
'
I like the idea of choosing my Llama's color. ;)

Look, it's like this, llamas die. Sometimes it's by natural causes. Sometimes it's not. But, we're not going to go into the proclivities of certain members and what they need all that duct tape and those hip waders for.

I'm not saying we kill one. Just sort of, you know, wait for one to drop.

Yeah, Paul. We're not saying we should kill one.

...maybe you could do it, though...

A dark colored on would not show the laser design very well.

Brad,
I know that would be the case, but I wanted to show two different colors...this is all just investigation at this point. By the looks of the poll we might be able to jump up in quality for the "basic" strap...
