Anyone recommend a capo for a 12-string? My trusty Shubb sort of misses the 12th string, due to the heavier gauge of the adjacent 11th. I see that Shubb make one but its just a bit longer and more curved, not sure if that will catch the 12th string properly.

I have a Balladeer 12 and I use ths Shubb-12 and it works just fine.... even up the neck for that mandolin-on-steroids sound.

G7 and Planet Wave both make very good dedicated 12 string capos...

The Shubb should work fine as well. They are all very good.

+1 for the Shubb. The G7 and Planet Waves are OK.

I use a 6-string Shubb deluxe on my CG12 and it works fine, but I don't capo past the 4th fret on that guitar, a 6 string Shubb may struggle in higher positions. Try putting the capo on from above the neck rather than below, that might cure it.

Actually, the normal Shubb works fine now - just played around a bit with the tension screw and position across the fretboard.

G7 makes a specific Capo for each type of Guitar - I have one for my 6, One for my Nylon (Classical Neck Width) and one for my 12... the 12 is just slightly wider than the 6 to ensure good contact with the Strings and neck...

I use the Schubb 12, but it's not a magic wand. The issue of the heavy gauge-next-to-the-light gauge strings requires adjusting the capo pretty tight and close to the fret; otherwise the light gauge strings sound muted. All of this means the strings go sharp and I have to re-tune...a little tricky when you're playing with others with no break between songs.
The worst offenders are the low E,A& D strings. Sometimes I just turn my back and very quickly tune those down. Sometimes it's not spot-on.
These issues only cause tension for me because of playing in a team of musicians. If you're by yourself you can relax.

I bought a Keyser 12 string capo, then held it next to a regular Keyser 6 string.

There was no difference I could see other than the package it came out of.

Then I was shafted by the store. They can easily "borrow" one out of those packages for a lesson or whatever and then replace it later with the incorrect one.
