Thanks for all the wise & creative counsel...

Howzabout whatay'all fancy in terms of effects pedals and devices?

I've toyed with a small pile over the years, and am currently (and modestly) using an Ibanez TS7 TubeScreamer with an 808 mod' chip in it for a classic overdrive distortion, and then I've got a Digitech RP220 Artist pedal with way too many features and effects...I had to take a nap after reading the manual!

I hope to explore it's full potential someday soon (it's fully programmable, including a full drum loop machine). I recently 'Bayed a Morley Classic Wah that should arrive later this week...

Your ideas and creative juices are highly sought after... ;)

Besides the acoustic pedals I have already mentioned, I have a Johnson J-Station Modeling Pre-amp (which is now pretty-much usless to me since I got rid of my Les Paul), and a Digitech BP200 Bass Guitar modeling preamp. I chose the modeling preamps because I didn't have the cash to fork out on high-dollar amps, and there are so many out there to chose from. This way I could have lots of different sound choices at a tiny fraction of the cost. Of course I got bored after a while and realized I only used a handful of the many sounds available. But with all that said ... I have now found the sound I was looking for.

I have had waaaay to many pedals to remember over the years and switched to rack effects long ago.Today I do occasionaly use pedals in my rig and the latest is a Danelectro Back Talk which is a reverse delay. Its a bit of a one trick pony, but if your looking for one, its THEE sweetest sounding reverse out there. Jimi would have dug this one alot ;) ! I also have the EVH reissue Phasor that does a really nice job at replicating the older "Script Block" type sound. For any type of early VH sound this one is a must.I have some other pedals that were pulled apart and assembled into rack shells with midi implimentation added so I guess they dont really count as "pedals" anymore :)

Electronics are not my friend. I still have a little Zoom acoustic and have not nearly been able to figure out 1/10 of it's potential. I found a couple of sounds I really liked and stopped learning right there. Even found a way to use it with my acoustic bass with A Hartke Preamp that sounds pretty cool? Go figure... Also I find you can spend more time adjusting these things because of all the silly unlimited parameters there are than you do learning how to play the guitar.
I don't know what I am saying I think this is a cry for help or something?? Anyway anything worth doing is worth doing no matter how fast the process.

The set up for my Custom Legend has a Boss chorus, Boss delay, and a Diaz Tremodillo running into my rack tuner to a Boss AD-5 and to the board. The effects on the AD-5 are dry. I tried a Zoom 504 and liked a couple of the effects, but found it way too noisy. I suspect that the placement in the signal chain can make a difference in noise, but I haven't been inclined to experiment.

Digitech GNX3000 board controlled by a laptop. Pain in the *ss to figure out how to setup all the options via the board itself, but controlled with a laptop, getting the sound you want is a breeze and then save the preset.

Geez, Stephen, I wouldn't have room on the floor to stand. I can't figure out the TV remote or the 2 button footswitch for my amp. I'll stick with the old lazy boy. It has a lever I can pull and a footstool comes right out of the bottom of the chair. I can reach my 1537 from the recline position.

I've tried lots of effects, but now, I either play dry or with a bit of reverb. If I get another effect it'll be either a phaser or roland spinning effect, or sans amp to warm up the signal. I love slap back and echo delays, for that vintage 50's sound.

All I use is Danelctro Cool Cat Chorus pedal. That is all I need. Just sweetens the sound a bit. Best sounding chorus pedal I have ever heard.

I like my old DOD phase shifter. It's from a bygone era, ancient times, but still works and sounds nice. Nixon was in office when the pedal was purchased. I also have a Pocketstudio-5 which has some very nice effects. There is a big dial which changes the sounds easily. It's cool to be able make a Viper sound like a twelve string.
I dig Stephens pedal board setup. It looks complicated. I doubt there are any sounds he can't create with that rig.

Thanks Buckaroo,

It's not complicated at all. Everything is wired up and ready to go. If I travel with it, I just snap the cover on and everything stays in place.

To operate, you step on the effect you want and hold on for the ride.

I am in so much trouble with the effects. I am onlt involved with the Duo now. But we keep finding songs that we know will sound great if we jump to the electrics. I am going to look so funny on stage with an effects set up that will run my acoustics. (guitars)...... then the crazy mix of effects I am borowing from my Electric Bass pedals selection and my acoustics so I can run my Acoustic bass and have it sound good on some songs........... Then yeah the electric guitars for a few songs.......... and then the electric Bass guitars with a roland PK 5 pedal set up I have finally bought....... I won't be able to get to my microphone so I can sing a song or two as well. !

I just picked up a Marshall VS65r tube amp that has more than enough overdrive for my taste. I used to use a Digitech rp300 with my Ibanez Artcore, and it had way more sounds than I ever got the chance to use. When I get another one, I think I'll upgrade to the GNX3 or GNX3000, just because of the recording loop.

BTW, anyone familiar with the real difference between the GNX3 and 3000 models? I haven't had a chance to look thoroughly yet.
