It's such a cheap part I can't imagine the seller does it for salvage? Is there a legal angle or some other reason? Enquiring bottom feeder wants to know....

I assumed that when they get old they dry out and their nuts fall off when they go without strings. Some of the other old guys around here can verify that.

At least the sciatic nerve pain is gone. And the incision pain will soon be gone too, and she'll be up and around again. She's been on her back for 9 weeks. Pretty amazing, considering it wasn't that long ago that back surgery meant disability for life.

Feels like I still have full range of movement... but hurts like hell testing it.

But I've lost my nuts several times, whenever I change all the strings at once. Not a recomended practise in some circles I'm told. (so I stay out of those circles!) Never happened with an Ovation yet, but some of the non-O beaters I have had. It's the best way I know to really clean the fretboard and get at the battery in my old 'O' which has no access port on the back. So, just put it back in place and the strings hold it on. Just a wee dab of glue will hold it if that really bothers you.

Mitz, although this thread's title is definitely inviting trouble, it doesn't really matter on this board. The same would happen no matter what the subject.
