Type of sander, abrasives, procedures, etc, will be greatly appreciated. When done, my music room will look fantiastic! (guess that qualifies as 'On Topic') Please send me a PM with your input. No sense taking up bandwidth here. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

At least that's what I saw in a movie one time! You should be able to rent a big rotary floor sander at one tool rental shop or another. Looks like a big floor polisher. With luck they'll even tell you how to run it. But unless you're tired of using your lungs for singing and breathing, look forward to having fine dust in cracks of your home you never noticed, and love getting high on chemical compounds....I'd hire someone to do it quick, and right.

I prefer to stain and then poly over it. 2 coats minimum of poly. BTW the edge sander is a lot more difficult to use then the drum sander.

The hardwood floors. It was owned by russians. It's like walking into a cave. He repainted the apartment and stripped the floors with the sander. It came out great. But it was so funny.

But, the house was a disaster..we pulled out all the old carpets and tile, all the old furniture and appliances, it took me quite a while just to do the prep work, then the ceilings got 3 coats of paint, the walls got 4 coats..plus doors and trim...I'll never bid another job like that, even for time and materials it wasn't worth it..
