So how do I feel now that I’ve had a day or two for the sensory head rush to settle down? Well … thankful. Thankful that I have the opportunity to associate myself in some way with a class act like Ovation. It is truly amazing how well Rick H. and Frank U. treated all of us on the tour day. We got “full access” (well, except for the black hole stuff) to everything and anything we wanted at the plant. Guitars everywhere for us to play and critique, and employees that absolutely LOVE what they do and do it with exceptional care and craftsmanship. They fed us at the plant – no small undertaking figuring out how many and what kinds of pizzas to order, and hosted a wonderful dinner and jam at a nearby ski resort where we could make as much “noise” as we wanted to – and boy, did we make some noise! I’m also thankful that I am a part of an exceptional bunch of people that have the OFC as their common denominator. Getting to meet you men and women was really a treat. To a person, everyone was warm, ingratiating, and a joy to be around. Now I have names and faces to go with the friends I have made over the last couple of years that I have been a member. You all made my wife, Beth (who WASN’T the one Woody & I sang with on Friday night) feel welcomed and a part of it all even though she isn’t, and doesn’t want to be, a guitar player – she is however, a super life partner and supporter of my addiction! She enjoyed herself so much that she is already excited about coming back next year and getting to know you guys and gals even better. It seems a shame that we only get to do this once a year. And a huge thanks to Al for putting the whole deal together with the Mothership. Al, you are an exceptional person, a great dealer and a friend. O yeah, and I’m thankful that the jams really were all about the music. You guys ROCK! I can’t wait till next year!

They're still putting out great guitars with the most advanced technology to date. My summer job: Guitar Center sales rep? maybee

The solution is to be an INformed buyer. And as guitar buyers I think everyone on this board qualifies as an INformed Ovation buyer. If we can help others make good decisions, that's great. But it needs to be done in a non-pushy way. Nobody likes to have something shoved down their throat that they really don't want (Cliff would be the exception). Tread carefully. Dave
