Anyone have experience with one of these?
I'm sort of in the mood for a TRUE travel guitar (Maryanne&I traveling in our Scion XA...read TINY).
I really like the package with this travel guitar with it's little ultralite case. Never heard one though. I've heard the Backpacker, Baby, Little M, Applause.
Does it have a radiussed fretbd? I raelly hate the flat one on the backpacker.
Since I'm probably gonna buy one sight unseen, any feedback from personal experience would be appreciated.
Thanks, John <>{

Hi John,
I have played one and liked it better than the backpacker, but I'm a little strange anyway. It would be nice if you could play one first. If you do get it and don't like it I have a birthday coming in August. :D

I know nothing about travel/trekker/backpack/whatever you want to call them guitars, but in the market.

Local shop did have a Baby Taylor in which sparked my interest, but that was just after the wall/car incident which left me with no cash. However, it is coming up to my birthday...

Have googled the Washburn Rover (thanks to this thread) and it looks a really good deal - if anyone has any thoughts, I'd really appreciate them too.

My only theory is I could take a traveller and a uke wherever I go. Class.

I have never seen one in a burst like this. Looks cool. I owned one for a while and they are a lot of fun. The fretboard is radiused as I remember. This nice thing about the Rover is the fret board is full size in terms of scale length. So, not hard to adjust to. The sound is going to be a little thin with such a small bodie, but it is different, which is nice. More than likely it will not fit in an overhead bin on an airplane, so if you are thinking for air travel, it might not work. For anything else, loads of fun.

Search the site for travel/backpack guitars, probably around last April. I tried the Rover and it was OK, but definitely sounded like a little guitar. I ended up with the Applause AA12, which is half size, but still a full size fretboard. It has a better sound and I got one on ebay for around $100 including shipping. Probably a little too big for backpacking, but came with a soft case that is about like carrying a tennis racket in a case, so it should be great for travel.

I really like that sunburst! Think I'm gonna get it.
I've had the Applause AA12. I'm sure it sounds better, but the case for the Rover makes it irresistable to me. As far as sound goes, ANY travel guitar is gonna make me wish I had my full-sized guitar with me. I just have to accept it for what it is.

And Pauly...We're going to Maine first week in Sept., so if I don't like the guitar I'll swing by your place on the way there and drop it off.
