Hello everyone. I haven't posted in awhile, but what the heck. I have to have a real job in addition to my hizzoner stuff...

Anyway, herhonner and I saw Steely Dan play in town over the weekend. It is the best show we've seen in ages! Michael McDonald opened -- and played several songs with SD. What an excellent show! If any of you get a chance, I'd recommend it!

Welcome back!
BTW cowboy... That "I'm to busy with my job" excuse won't cut it here on the OFC.

Sorry to hear that, Al. I've spent the last 3 weekends sanding and staining the cabin and this is one of my better summers.

I really like Donald Fagen's new solo CD, Morph the Cat. Best stuff he's done in years.

I would have liked to go to that one, but I bought tickets to see John Mayer and Sheryl Crow. With the price of concerts these days, I have to pick and choose.

Having seen Steely Dan on their last 2 tours, I was struck as to how good they are musically, and their band. It's a known fact for musicians, that if you get picked to tour with the Dan, you've made it. Last time around, instead of promoting their new album, they started off with Aja, and went on to perform the entire album, along with other old favorites. It was an incredible night of music, that left the audience in awe, as they left the concert. They are a serious bunch of musicians, that give it their all.

They've had a huge fan here for years. I've seen both SD and McDonald a couple of times and enjoyed every minute. Absolutley great musicians. I had read years ago that when McDonald was starting out as a studio musician, he played with the Dan and wanted to tour with them. They said he was way too strong to play behind them or anybody else and pointed him to the Doobies who had been looking for a keyboard player.

That could be a load of crap too but it was a good read.

So... in "Show Biz Kids..." are they saying "Going to Las Vegas" or "Lost Wages?"

Unfortuneatley,

It's true. I had made a commitment to my friend Layne to go to San Diego with him, and hang out with our friend Logan at his rented rehersal space. I took the tube amp, and the BWL, and the Ibanez which I resurected and gave back to Layne today (he was stoked). While visiting our old boss who owns a stero shop in Mission Viejo, a guy from the Mercedes dealer shows up and gives him the tickets  We called Logan to see if there was room in the schedule to postpone going down there, and it simply would not work out. Oh well, there were just lawn seating tickets anyway. Last time I think I was about 5th row...
