First, take a deep breath. Remember, you Vikings are cool customers. You have a couple of options.

1)go to a local luthier with your guitar and ask him what truss rod he would use on your guitar, and then ask where he buys them. I've done that and you make friends. I think that this is your best bet.

2)If your guitars are like mine, you just need to find out the size of the hex wrench used by ovation, and get a long one. In the states we have dollar stores that have such things. Maybe an automotive store.

3)Maybe someone here can sell you one.
4)Maybe you can ask ovation where they get there's and buy one from their source.

See ... everything's going to be alright.

The really good news is that a neck with a Kbar in it almost never needs adjustment. I've had my 1537 for 13 years, have used light and medium gauge strings on it and at most, have taken a shim out from under the saddle. I've never had to mess with the neck.

Hi AN4340 and moody p.i,thanks for comments, the Glenn C uses a top key there s very little space so the mantle has to be very thin, regular tops are too thick and will not fit in the narrow spacing at the neck, running to a luthier all the time won`t cut it as I am very finicky about adjustments,(if you want it done right, then do it yourself)I adjust my instruments frequently,to obtain "perfect" balance between Playability/hammering away, depending on strings, temp, and what not, actually I was hoping that someone here has a shop who could order 2 of each for me,as aforementioned Maxxmusic do not have any( they actually stated that they could not help me) so there ,this is the situation that I am in,I hope someone can help me out,.. :) Vico

I have an extra wrench for your GC. I'll check my '47 to see what will work on it. Sent you a PM.

Actually, i find that hard to believe. I had a similar problem in that i bought a 1537 and it came w/o a truss rod wrench. I emailed an Ovation rep at the "mother ship" about my situation and i had a truss rod wrench at my door within a week at no charge. Perhaps the mail is a bit slowed down headed overseas?

Just as a little side note dont ever by hex wrenches from the dollar store they are not Heat Treated and will not last.I know I supervise the h.t. dept at Eklind Tool Co. we mfg. 4 million lbs of Hex per year and again They are only as good as the hardness for wear ability!!

Well for christs sake Jeff, if you make 4 million lbs. of hex wrenches a year do you really think they would miss a couple of them that accidently got mailed to Denmark ???

PS - For the record, I do not condone stealing company property.

V-elite,

I do not know what hex rod you need for a 1537, but if it is the same long tool that is delivered with every guitar that has a kaman bar - and I think, the 1537 has a Kaman bar and no trussrod cover - I got plenty of them and really don't need one in every case. If somebody brings a little light into this and the "new ones" will fit, send me your adress via pm and I will send you one.

Regards, Kurt
