What is this "Killing Floor" thing that we just got no time for??? Having grown up in the age of hippies, flower power, and war protests, I should already know this.

RL Burside wrote about the time his father, brother and uncle were murdered all in a six months period in Chicago. The song is "hard times on the killing floor." He was comparing living during that period to living in a slaughterhouse. The guy sure had the blues. He never went back to chicago.
