This was about 5 months ago. Since then I've leaned more toward light (.11's) strings. However, when I changed to these lighter strings I'm getting some buzzing that I didn't get with the medium gauge strings. So my question is: How do I get rid if the buzz?? Add a shim? Adjust the truss rod, if so which way? Any help would be great!!!! -Adam

Assuming that the frets are OK, you can go to the Ovation website and look at the owners manual for setup of the truss rod. It will give you the correct measurements off the fretboard. I'm sure there are a lot of guys here that know more about this than I do, so sit tight, and someone will give you better information.

LX's (Advanced Neck System) are super responsive and easy to adjust. Don't be shy. You probably only need 1/8th of a turn to get rid of the buzz.

I've never messed around with the truss rod. I just want to make sure I'm not doing something wrong. I'll remove the cover on the headstock and turn 1/8. If I have the headstock in my hand looking down the neck I'll turn it to my left/counter clockwise.....right?? Just want to make sure it's like every other screw....left loosen, right to tighten.
