I was looking at the list of discontinued items... no mention of the Deacon or Breadwinner series... Is this just an oversight, or is there a reason behind it?

Ovation doesn't pay a lot of homage to their solidbody and semi-hollow (Storm) history. That's too bad, because there were some very interesting ideas and a lot of leading edge technology. Thead was the first guitar I ever saw with an out-of-phase selector. And the Bwinner had active electronics for crying out load! Plus some of these were visually striking. The Storms especially were really beautiful looking guitars with great neck profiles. Miles is probably THE best worldwide historian on these solids and semi-hollows. I wish he would write a book!

I asked the same question a couple of years ago. I was dissapointed with the lack of Deacon info, since that's what made me an Ovation fan. Fortunately, I've seen more Deacons and Breadwinners than most folks will, simply because I went to Sam's house once.
