Bought this 45 on a garage sale.. paid too much, but I think this group's got mojo.

The A side is "Midwest Central" written by Lena Masden and Doc Nau

The B side is "Steel Guitar Rag" (no written by)

It was recorded on the Emir label, Burlington, Iowa.

I haven't listened to it. I gotta clean it up, but it is near pristine. Also got a couple Kingston Trio's and a Jimmie Rodgers

(Im also a vinyl junkie)

The Engine is still a working engine in a Railway Museum in Iowa. According to that site it arrived in their yard in 1966.

I've been to Burlington and Mt. Pleasant, though. I never did figure out where the "Mt." was.

Hey, Kingston Trio! Seen 'em 3 times (how many other people under age 35 do you think can say that--or will admit to it?).

The guy on the left looks like Tim Champman (but with more hair), the guy in the middle looks like Steve "Sylvio" VanZant, and the woman(?) on the banjo looks like Corky from "Life Goes On" . . .

I've heard tell that, at their gigs, the banjo player got all the chicks.

I would have opted to keep the banjo player off the cover. It really deters one from wanting to purchase it.
