I bought one used in immaculate condition 2 days ago for $550.00. Just very curious where I can get other information in rgerads to reviews etc..

Despite all the literature that's been out over the last year regarding the reissue models, Ovation didn't come out with their first p/u until 1972. The 1767 Legend is a deep bowl cutaway. It's either got the stacked volume tone control on the waist of the guitar or an OP 24. Either way, it's a great guitar and at about 20 years old, probably has a great sound.

So, at the risk of sounding very stupid, can someone break down what the OP24 pickup is for me? the guitar has a volume and equalizer on top. It does sound and play great. It looks like the previous owner took very special care of it.

The 1767 is a nice guitar, having all the features of the 1867 but with a deep bowl. The OP24 preamp is an active system as Steve described, and was the standard for Ovation for nearly a decade. Some still like it the best, as it is very reliable and clean.
