Hello,

Since 2 days, I'm in contact with a very kind guy who asked me for some help.
He owns a nice Adamas model and I've never seen such a model before that's why I need your help: ADAMAS CENTURY

According the owner, this Adamas is equipped with a wood top and he owns this guitar since 11 years!!!
As you can see, it has an Adamas II neck, an Adamas I carved bridge, an ebony fretboard, a "century" inlay at the 12th fret and according the serial, it has been produced in 1995.
Could it be a custom order or maybe a guitar especially made for export (for Japanese market??)??

I'm waiting for more pics... ;)

Thanks for your help.

Jerome :)

Adamas Century strings, yes. Guitar, no. Nice looking, though...

Thanks,

The label inside the bowl says "A custom Guitar by Ovation"...

I will add the next pics when I will get it.

I think most non-cutaways that do not have bass bout mounted electronics (like V or stacked V/T) are like this. I'm looking at quite a few of them as I write this. Dave

The page is now updated with new pics. ADAMAS CENTURY
This Adamas is Amazing because the top is really made of wood!!!!
I'm not an expert and I've seen lots of Adamas since I'm collecting O's but I'm so surprised to see such a model.
I sincerely hope that someone could identify this guitar.

I think that guitar was built for the Japanese market, but beyond that I don't know much about it...

I've finally found the story of this model.
You were right Moody, it has been built for Japanese market. ADAMAS CENTURY PAGE

And do you know where I've found these information???
At the better place for Ovation guitars, on the OFC!!! :D

Ah, so these are the ones that came from the 100 year old tree. I rememebr reading the press release about that. Didn't realizee it was going to be called an Adamas. Here's a dumb question. Forget the fact for a minute that maybe this 100 year old tree is really something special. But in general why would a wood top Adamas be any different than an Ovation Elite? Dave

I'd been thinking the same thing before, that Adamas' were specifically unique for their tops, so this particular guitar was more along the lines of a premium Elite model. But, no doubt it'd be very interesting to hear the sound of hundred year old spruce. Appears more like a dark cedar wood...
