Dear forum members

I,ve had an ovation folklore 1114 for about 25 years now. never really wondered how this guitar ranked in popularity and price range.
Can someone expand on this

Welcome WV, I had an 1114 at one time until a moment of weakness (stupidity?) when I sold it. (thanks Randy) It is a VERY sweet sounding guitar. I am currently trying, half heartedly, to find another one. I would guess the price range would run from about 175.00- 250.00 for what you normally see (cracked tops, nicks and gouges) to about maybe 450-500.00 for one in pristine shape with case IMHO. Does that seem right to you guys?

Hang in there, JP. You only have a few hours left. Persevere!

What do I think of a 1114? As far as I'm concerned this is the STANDARD configuration for a guitar. All those Legends, Balladeers etc. are called "Long, Skinny Neck" guitars.

1114 is one of the least appreciated gems of the Ovation line. Ditto for the original version (Josh White), the later mid-depth version (6774), the LX Version, and last but NOT LEAST the FD14 FOLKLORE DELUXE which is DEFACTO the BEST sounding wood topped acoustic guitar Ovation has ever produced, in my (and dozens of others) opinion.

Had to let that one go. I was looking for one in a little better shape, or at least not tampered with.

The question was popularity and price.

Popular but still unappreciated by most. A good shaped Folklore 1114 goes for around $250-$300 on Fleabay. The later cutaways can get a respectable price $700-$900.

Once someone holds one and plays it they are very much appreciated. Most of the World just doesn't know about them.

If forced to liquidate my 10 guitars, the Folklore would be the last to go (and it would include my cold, dead fingers).
