Random quote: “Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” -Plato

Over the years, our family has grieved for hamsters, birds, cats, ponies, horses and dogs; and the dogs have always hit me the hardest. I'm sorry, Moody; I don't have a dog right now, or I'd go hug mine, too. (Maybe Robbie will let me borrow Fuzz.....)

Sorry for your loss Paul, been there, hurt from that.

Now you'll have to chase the mailman yourself.

Been there as well, Paul. Gave ours a rest after 15 years. It's still tough when the pictures come out. I'm very sorry for your loss. RIP, Charlie.

Know what you're going through.... It's one of the hardest thing I've ever done and one of the things I dread most about the future...

My condolences Paul. It's never an easy thing to have to do. I think everyone's probably had to go through the same thing at one time or another. But the special ones are as tough as losing a family member. My toughest was a very special thoroughbred I raised from a yearling.

Hey Paul,

So sorry to hear this, buddy. My heart is heavy for you and your family. I, too, had a Charlie once.

I remember when my first dog died ... when I was 10. I knew that dog my whole life. I felt so sad. Then I remember when my second dog died, a golden retriever. She had a nice personality. I felt sad. Then I remember when my third dog died, a labrador retriever. Oh boy. It's like losing a best friend. Now I live in a place where having a dog is difficult. I sure do miss it.

Guys, thanks very much for all the great messages. Charlie was very much a part of our family and cancer took him way too soon. He will be missed.

Wow Paul it's amazing how you and the dog look a like. But I think Charlie had the edge. Still sorry you lost a friend. But you still have Cliff :(
