Made a friend at church who said he had a Balladeer 12 string with way high action that he couldn't play. I said "Let me take a look and see what I can do". I pick it up from his son and bring it home to open it up from its gig bag.

It's a 1615 Pacemaker with the preamp missing and the wires to the piezo snipped. Pull the strings, remove three fat shims, oil it, clean it, polish out the glue drops, Dunlop 65, inspect inside for brace breaks, etc.

Restrung it and took a 1/4 turn on the truss rod nut and it is once again a 12 fret orchestra! Granted, due to the dip in front of the bridge (not the Playrer) the next adjustment will have to be a bowl bend or neck reset.

I think the Owner will be happy but I would really like to do more. Does anyone have a single knob preamp they can sell or trade? I have battery boxes and I think I can reattach the Pickup.

These instruments were made to be played and enjoyed. Right now he plays his Wood box six string plugged in at church. I'd love to see a little Pacemaker go'in on if you know what I mean!

I got a fever...

I love it when the drummer gets on the cowbell.

Drives the music director crazy. :D

Thanks Jason. I'll hold out for the one knob or just grab a Schaller stick on like I used on the Folklore.

As for you other repribates and malflutients, yes it was the "Cowbell" allusion being made.

It usually comes out past 11:00pm.
