I'm sick. I caught the top of my 2005 Collectors on a music stand and now have a dent in the finish. It is smaller than a pencil eraser but I'm bummed.

Is there an inexpensive way to seal and fill the dent that will not stick out like a sore thumb?

I appreciate your input...

My heart felt condolances to you Bob. I have a 1/2" ding in my otherwise perfect 1778LX from an unlatched case rollover.

The Poly finish is "sealable" using Cyano-glue and polishing pads. It does not, however, melt in and hide like lacquer.

There may always be a scar.

The only guitars that don't get nicks, dings and scratches are the guitars that don't get played. Enjoy and appreciate every battle scar that shows up. I was playing with my boys and Max took a capo off his guitar and tossed it onto a padded stool in the center of us ... and the capo trampolined off the stool directly into the soundboard of my Martin. I was initially bummed about the small (noticable really only to me) ding, but now I appreciate that ding because it reminds me that the guitar was bringing something special into my life. 'Nuff said.

I used to be really anal about stuff. Luckily that phase of my life is over ...

Dave

PS - Got to go brush the fur on the inside of my cases to make sure it all lays in the same direction.
