Well at least 2 more Ovations are tuned at the GC in Tacoma now. Played a GC771, the Cedar topped special as well as the Black Elite T. Didn't see and Adami.

Moved on the Ted Brown where I tuned a few more including the 12 fret to body Adamas with the Solid Epaulets. It does have the sound!

Then into a Hail storm and home to ship a 1537 back to Mother...

Yesterday at GC I tuned up, then played a shallow bowl LX Balladeer.
I was impressed.
I... the proto-typical deep bowl snob was impressed!

I love my U681T and would never trade it, but I love the walnut neck on the 1680.

Me too. Not having been "in" on the U681's in time, I may have to settle ( ;) ) for one of these someday...

Maybe I'll win the lottery...do you still have to play to win?

Oh, Jim, this baby rocks! Believe me, if you had one like this, you'd never play the 1681 again.

I'd never experienced the "12-fret slothead" phenomenon before I played a 1680, but I am a believer now!

Went to GC lastnight, picked up a 15w crate amp and a strat made in Indonesia for $100, WOW!!!
Played with it for bout 3hrs(Santa gets to break in all the kids toys!) I had to make sure it works! Not bad for cheap stuff!
This deal is good till Dec. 3rd

I played Jeff's Custom U681 while in New Jersey and it was the cat's ass! Easily one of the best guitars I have ever played. To my ears, the mid depth bowl tamed the bass to perfect levels. I thought it was much more balanced that a regular Ute.....

Yup, I have to agree with Moody. Jeff's mid depth custom is one of the absolute best sounding Adamas guitars I have ever played. Acoustic only, like a real guitar should be.

I hate to admit that I actually think it DOES sound better than my acoustic only U681. The mid depth bowl and cutaway tames the boominess. The U681 is a great sounding guitar alone or in a small group. Cuts right through the mix. But it's a bitch to record. I was doing some stuff last weekend and I could not tame it. I ended up using a wooden box guitar.

I'm sure the Premier sounds amazing, probably very similar to the U681. Would be interesting to do a side by side comparison. Has anyone here bought one?

Dave
