Yes. For service on imported ovation guitars you must work through the dealer from which you bought it. Dave

sorry about your guitar kingkstur.

How about contacting an authorized Ovation Repair/Service center in your area? I have brought my guitar for repairs in the past, and almost always, it was covered by the warranty. Every now and then, I would be charged a nominal fee, but I haven't been billed over $25 to date. Hold on to your original sales receipt, and here's the link to help you find a service center in your neck of the woods:

http://www.ovationguitars.com/index.cfm?fa=servcenter

I'm not sure how the warranty will be honored for Ovations made in the Far East, but at least, it's worth a try. Good luck.

As Alpep stated, just contact the dealer you bought it from. They will handle it.

Additional info for those interested. Apparently it is Guitar Center Inc. that is buying Music123's parent company, which is in bankruptcy. Of course, Musician's Friend is affiliated with Guitar Center.

I'll have to keep an eye on the music123 website for distress bargains. If any of you fellow vultures hear of anything post! I'll do the same.

Speaking of acquiring companies ... does anyone know if Kaman's acquistion of that distributorship is doing any good? It's been at least a year now. For example, it used to be the distributer of Tribal Planet, but now Tribal Planet is being distributed by fender? That's not a step forward is it?

Politically Incorrect-- The new capitalist game is: Declare Bankruptcy. Get out of any contracts that you had with your employees for health care, 401k or stock. Get bought by your rich friends. Get a golden parachute. Hire new employees of minimum-wage. You stay rich, all the flunkies are down at the employment office.
You get hired by new company, with a raise. Eventually, GC, Music 123, Musician's Friend, and all the others end up as one company.

Sorry. That was rude.

It's the American way. Donald Trumph bankrupts at least one company every 2 years, you think his menu has ever changed!

Then there's a stockholders' class action suit and the new company settles by paying off the lawyers. That just happened with Albertson's. I was a stockholder. The lawyer supposedly representing us got paid off. We got nothing.

Trump is the fusking "Welfare Mom" of Corporate Entitlement. Do a search and look at how many contractors he's shafted by seeking multiple bankruptcy protections as capital. This guy should be in prison for fraud...

You forgot the part about raiding the employee pension plan so it goes broke while propping up the company's stock so that top management's stock options can be cashed in. The loyal employees are left with no pension. Then you offload the company's work to low wage subcontractors and furlough many of your employees, thus keeping the company stock up, and yes, keeping the value of management stock options up. Although the company is in bankruptcy, record breaking bonuses and salaries are paid to top management to "retain talent". (Uh, wouldn't that be the same "talent" that drove the company to bankruptcy?)

What would Jefferson Do?

Jefferson said that there should be a Revolution in a Revolution every 20 years.
