Hey Guys, check out this Adamas I reissue on ebay. Nice guitar.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Adamas-I-1687-8-30th-anniversary-Ovation_W0QQit...

But I have a question about this one. Look at the body binding. It looks black color. Is that right? I thought the originals had brown binding. Oh well, beautiful instrument either way.

And I was just thinking this weekend that I had enough guitars for awhile. You could have waited a few months, Al. Maybe we don't really need that big screen.

Since Al is the seller, isn't he a good one to ask about that?

Sweet guitar!

I KNOW the binding on this guitar is black. My question was what color is the binding on the original 1687? This has nothing to do with this specific auction, I'm just curious about the reissue vs. the original. I'm surprised nobody knows the answer.

Where's Tony C when we need an answer concerning 1687's?

Al, you're a weenie.....

My '93 Adamas I 12 string has the black binding. I think Ovation went to the black somewhere in the late 1980's when it was politically correct to do so ....

Got a little bidding frenzy already. I've seen that iv177 bid up a few guitars before, but don't know if he or she ever got one. Is the high bidder one of us?

Al - I wasn't suggesting you advertise the guitar here. The point was that Dave knows who you are and how to ask that question directly. Of course, that would rule out a fun thread like this and the input of others, some of which is even relevant.... like most threads on this forum. :D

to be honest, I don't know what will or will not set people off these days.
I was asked not to advertise guitars for sale so I comply.

I understand; it's gotten a bit heated and crazy at times, not to mention over the top on occasion.

Al, you don't have to mention here if you're selling a guitar on the 'bay. People will see it and mention it. Same thing with any established OFC'er. Quit trying to be modest ("I just sell gear for a living"). It doesn't suit you.

Newspaper today referred to the athletic director at a major division I university as a "little blood sausage". I thought that was a pretty good one. Dave
