I was browsing the guitar section of a pawn shop and came across a Custom Balladeer - 1655 twelve string. The neck, head, tuners, bridge all look to be in great shape - the body however has a few cracks - the long one appears to go through the wood... I'll have to go back with a little mirror to verify it.

Assuming that the crack does go through... what would a reasonable amount be to offer the guy? He wants $275. Obviously I can go lower than that, but how much?

Bottom feeders???

Red, your first one or two offers should be low enough that they are refused. Otherwise, you'll never know how much 'extra' you paid.

Yow! I can sympathize. About 12 years ago I got in a serious argument with my table saw - it won. My right thumb was completely split in 2 & my index finger was flayed open stem to stern. After 2 microsurgeries and 6 months of therapy I wound up with a thumb about 1/4" shorter than it used to be and my index finger won't flex closed all the way. Surprisingly I think it helped my finger picking! Sergio
