My daughter Kaki will appear as a body/hand double for a 10 year old boy, a "musical prodigy", in a new movie called August Rush (starring Robin Williams). She performed two of the guitar pieces, one of which is a Michael Hedges tune called "Ritual Dance." She was filmed recently in NYC's Washington Square Park near NYU:

I could be mistaken, but I believe the guitar being used in the movie is a Gibson Acoustic L-200 Emmylou Harris model. Of course she would have preferred her Adamas, but the child actor (Freddie Highmore) uses the Gibson in most of his scenes.

Freddie was in Finding Neverland and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory--both with Johnny Depp.

Notice the makeup on her right hand--it's there to make her hand look dirty, like the child's.

The movie will be released sometime next year.

Best to all--

Dave King

10 years old sounds about right. The Youtube video of her playing on Conan is almost comical at the end when he's standing next to her. Like Treebeard and a hobbit.

Edited: Sorry Dave, I forgot to congratulate you and Kaki. Congrats!

Gotta give it-up to casting directors. Way to go Kaki... not just anyone can do Michael Hedges....let alone pass for a 10 year boy...

Way to go Kaki.

It looks a little cool up there.

I remember living in upstate New York.

No outdoor gigs past labor day weekend,(not unless they paid good). :D

Actually, it's been pretty warm here. Though they say we will have 64mph gusts at midnight, followed by rain, followed by cold, followed by clearing, followed by snow, followed by ...
