I need to get some microphone to record my singing and my Yamahas without pickups. Need no fancy stuff, just a cheap mic that give good value for money. Anybody got some advice?

I think the Marshalls are junk (personal opinion only) but I like the Oktava's...specially if you find a good one or send it to OktavaMod and have the electronics upgraded.

I have googled a bit but really wanted to hear about your experiences. Maybe I start with asking a guy here who has a small part time business doing sound and ligthing jobs for amateur theatre and bands to lend me some mic just to try it out. As mentioned recording is meant to be a practice tool in the first place. Maybe I'll distribute some stuff if I can make anything sound like music. Time will show.

There are a couple of tube preamps that get very good consumer reviews on musiciansfriend.com, but I went for the Buddy to have two channels and to be a preamp for my son's piezo pickup on his violin.
