I realize that Adamas is the top rung of the Ovation ladder, but that said - What is likely to be the most affordable and/or attainable Adamas model (in either the Used or New categories)?

That's a hard question to answer Oster.
The old saying "Ya get what you pay for" comes to mind.
And on the flip side of that, anything can happen on ebay. Like the UTE grab a few days ago.
Another thought to add to the mix... Not all Adamii are created equal.

A "Starter Adamas". Isn't that an oxymoron? Kinda like Military Intelligence?

A "Starter Adamas" would be an Academy.

These export version textured top adamas are GREAT:

TEXTURED TOP ADAMAS

These are a terrific bargin. I own this exact same model in a different color. Acoustic only, like real guitars should be. You could always add electronics later. These were built during the time when only the dead sounding smooth tops were available in the US. For the Asian market they built these TEXTURED top versions. You'll never find a better Adamas bargin than this.

Oh yeah, it would be simple to add 2-knobber to this. That would be a killer setup. Dave

Wouldn't you have to route for the saddle?

Yup, thinline. Personally I would prefer it over the opp pickup. As Jason said, I think it robs less of the acoustic sound than the opp. Dave

It's good to know what particular models to watch out for, so thanks all.
