Last week I posted a photo of my daughter Kaki appearing as the "hand double" in a forthcoming movie called August Rush. I think these pictures probably indicate why she got the gig.

Robin Williams with Freddie Highmore.

A shot from the movie showing Freddie Highmore.

Kaki doing hand doubling with the super jumbo Gibson.

All things considered, this is the most unusual gig of her career. I'm told the movie will be out in February.

Best to all--

She actually performed at least two songs which will be on the soundtrack, including a Michael Hedges tune called "Ritual Dance" from the album Taproot. I'll say this for the film's music director--he has adventuresome taste in acoustic guitar music.

Hey, I was an extra in "Our Winning Season" when I was a senior in high school. So bad it never came out on VHS, and the DVD only came out a year or so ago. I bought it, and it's so terrible I couldn't even finish it.

But I got paid $60 and got out of class for 3 days.

I did the wall treatment in Kim Basinger's bathroom in "Nadine". It's on-screen for almost 30 seconds.

My daughter was an "extra" in a movie called "Animal Room". It was a "HighSchool/SciFi/Thriller". Utter Shite. The big "star" was Neil Patrick Harris("DoogieHowser"), and as far as I know, it went straight to VHS. Ashley's total time "on-camera" is about 2.3secs.

From what I've heard, Doogie hasn't gone straight anywhere.
