I was at a local lounge last night, and on the big screen was a taped version of The Stones in London.
In a number of songs Ron Woods played a solid body Ovation. Out of pure curiosity has anyone seen this, or by chance know what model of guitar he played

I can remember seeing Ron Wood playing a ton of different guitars throughout his career, including Strats, Teles, a couple or 3 Zemaitis, Ampeg plexiglass, Gibson L5S, Gibson Firebird, right now he has a Duesenberg signature model. I can't recall ever seeing him with an Ovation. Can you narrow it down? Single cutaway or double cut? Do you remember the venue or year of the concert?

Ed, it sounds like you need to go back to the lounge for a little "research."

I agree with Mark. If Woody was playing a solid O, I'd like to see it. Maybe they'd give you the title of the DVD.

I just spoke with the lounge owner and he said it is called the Rolling Stones 4 flicks arena show. When I get a chance I'll go watch it again, and pay closer attention. I am pretty sure I saw the Ovation head, but I know very little of solid bodies.

I've seen that DVD. From memory Wood plays a couple of Teles, a Firebird and a semi-acoustic which could be a Gretsch or a Duesenberg. Definately no Ovations.

The other night I saw a Stones video (Aftermath?). There weren't very many closeups of Woods, but there were a few quick shots, and he was playing an electric that kinda looked like it had an Ovation head--but the "ears" were a lot bigger. The body was almost teardrop shape like an old Vox. Rounded but not symmetrical though.
