Good Morning Everyone! I have a mid 1970, 1112 Custom Balladeer that I would like to have the nut and saddle replaced with either bone or tusq, anyone know of a good luthier in south to south central Texas.

Thanks in advance
Bill

Sorry Bill, I don't know anyone down by Palacios. I could get some references around Houston if you're interested, but that's quite a ways.

Howdy Joyful Noise, Houston would be great. I would be willing to take the drive, give me a good reason to get out of town. I think its only about an hour and ahalf for me. Any info that you can gather will be very helpful.

THANKS!!
Bill

OK, Bill, I'll work on it today and hopefully post something a little later.

Gosh, Bill, I haven't really been able to come up with much. I came up with Pace Guitar repair and Great Southern Music, but a few calls around to some friends didn't really help. So I then found a listing of warranty service centers on the Ovation web site. I realize this isn't a warranty item but they did have a good list of centers in Texas and both Pace and Great Southern were listed. Since I don't know where some of these towns are, I'll just give you a link to that page.

I can tell you that Pace (Ron Pace) is very well known and some people swear by him, others swear at him. Most complaints have to do with timeliness of repairs not quality of work. I haven't been able to find anyone familiar with Great Southern's work.

Sorry, but that's all I've been able to come up with.

Thanks very much Rick!! You have been a great help. I will check out the list an see if anyone is closer, if not I will contact Ron Pace and see what I can set up.

Thanks again
Bill
