Looked closely at the saddle on my 12-string, since I'm planning to replace it with a Tusq saddle. There is shallow slots under the thicker string in each of the four lowest pairs. Is this done on all 12-strings? My guess is that the slots are made to make it easier to pick both strings in the pair. Am I right?

I don't understand. I don't remember anything like that on any of my Yamaha 12's. Could you post a pic?

probly just wore grooves in the soft derlin saddle...ive had to replace several like that..jason
