I saw this show a couple of times and they did a thing on martin guitars. Funny part is they must have wanted film footage of a bunch of guitars on a wall and went to a local GC to do it. The cameraman obviously did not know anything about guitars because on this segment about martins they films a WALL FULL OF OVATIONS!!!
that put a smile on my face

Haha. Al, I saw that too! Very funny. Bet the folks at Martin aren't too happy about that!

Funny how that works.

I've had the opportunity from time to time to be featured in news stories. In general, I'd say if the story is about half right, you should feel lucky.

On something like the Made In America, their objective is to tell a good story, not be accurate. I think by that standard they do a pretty good job. I saw their story on Fender guitars the other day. Not half bad.

I wonder if I could get them to come to Omaha and do a story on our American Made binders...

Isn't John Ratzenberger the pope ???

The ironic thing about the show you mention isn't that they showed a wall of Ovations in a piece about Martins, but rather that they could actually FIND a wall of Ovations.

If it was filmed at a G.C., it was probably a wall full of celebs with one or two baladeers way at the top, right below the ceiling.

They did a tour through the Gibson factory also in the first or second season. I haven't seen the other ones.

The Gibson factory tour is posted on the Gibson website. It was much better than the Martin one, in which they just talked about the guitars, rather than touring the site in any detail.

I saw the Gibson one, too. I thought it was very well done. It led me to the Gibson website and I really liked their online factory tour. Wish the Ovation website had something like that.

John has also been to the Fender factory in Corona. Another good episode, even better than the Gibson one. More detailed.

With Martin, Gibson & Fender being featured the Mothership should invite the show to New Hartford. They've been all over CT. for other episodes.

I don't know. The Factory Tour video, done with Aaron Tippin, ain't too bad- and he's a musician.
OK, more exposure is better than less exposure. May be arguing apples & oranges, anyway.
As we appear to be scripting this episode, what would we like to see & hear, reflective of the spirit, tradition, and artistry of The Wizards o New Hartford?
