I was watching that Legend LX with a BIN of $600 on ebay. It was supposed to end tonight. I ran out to do some errands and told myself that I would just use the BIN when I got home.. sure enough it was gone!

Location: Houston, Texas | Bradley, I think you made a horrible mistake. Probably one that will haunt you forever. I just don't know how you will ever be able to live with that guitar in the house. I mean, every time you look at it you will think, gosh, what a fool I was. Some guy just walked off with about $500 of my money for nothing, the jerk. I see nothing but bad vibes and you will never be comfortable playing it. Pretty soon you will begin to believe it's haunted and taunting you. You will miss a note and immediately think of that jerk and what a fool he made of you. You'll get frustrated and pretty soon your work will suffer. Your wife will wonder if you still love her and if you're having an affair. Your kids will be asking their mother, whats the matter with Daddy? Your cat will run away at the sight of you. And pretty soon you'll begin to question your faith and whether life is worth living.
There's just one thing, and one thing only, that you can do to rid yourself of this pitiful future, and I'm willing to help. Just send the guitar off to me and I will personally destroy it for you (by playing it to death, probably over a 30 year period, it's so evil), and you will be able to continue your happy life, knowing what a friend you have in me, without ever having to worry about it again.

First of all there is certainly more than one thing that you can do to avoid the future that Rick so accurately described. You are NOT limited to Rick's entirely self-serving suggestion.

Yes. I will BUY the guitar from you. Now I know you feel bad about how much you paid for the guitar, and I'm sure that you wouldn't want me to feel bad, too. Now ask yourself, wouldn't you have felt great if you had gotten it for say $500.00? Sure you would. And you want to keep the groovy love vibes flowing don't you? Sure you do. And wouldn't I feel great getting this fine guitar for $500.00? Absolutely!! So...
Sell me the guitar for $500.00. That way you'll be out a bunch of money and have no guitar to show for it - a fitting penance for over-spending. You'll feel like you've atoned. I'll feel like I got a great bargain - everybody's happy.
That's the great thing about crystalline logic. There's no arguing with it.
Go ahead and send me the guitar along with the address where you want me to send the check. I'll take care of everything else. No need to thank me. Even though you are a total stranger, I am willing to do his for you. That's just the kind of guy I am.

I did do some homework before bidding and I thought $1475 was a good price and probably is.
I have to admit I've also have bought guitars from Ebay that others have called 'a steal'. I really don't have anything against anyone for turning a fair profit. |
