As if two feet last week wasn't enough, we're getting a foot more tonight and another foot tomorrow night. The local hardware store sold 300 snow shovels in just over an hour. Time to trade a guitar or two in for a snowplow.

Hey Doc,
I feel your pain. Sorta. Having grown up in the Springs and living in the mountains for a while, I can remember tunneling, hoping I would eventually run into my truck.

Hey BB, In Boston in '78, they told us snow flurrys, and we got 16 inches. Next day they said 16 inches, and we got 28. Then just a coupla more inches everyday. It was January, so we already had five or six feet lying around.
Everything closed, armed National Guard troops guarding the banks and stuff. No work for a week, unless you could walk to work.
But it was Boston! Bars and liquor stores were open. No work. People just standing around in the snow, drinking beer and watching the show.
So... Enjoy the Show.

I tried to do that with GGGuy last week, but it seems the warm weather followed us to Tenn.

I would offer to take some of your snow, but it would screw up my 9:15 tee time today. Sorry.
My work has been taking me almost weekly for 1-2 days to Salt Lake City. Very nice place, but cold as hell. Took some clients to dinner at a place called the Steak Pit, located at Snowbird ski resort. They had 115 inches of natural snow. From a recreational point of view (I snowboard a little) I can see the attraction. At the same time, getting back on the plane and flying south over the canyon to the dry warm desert also has it's appeal.
My wife got me a beautiful leather jacket for Xmas. Haven't had a chance to wear it yet. The weather's been in the 60's to 70's out here.....

I would be very grateful for just the normal amount of snow.
We had a fairly nasty storm out here that caused some major damage. I took a picture of the worst of it....

For the first time ever we have had no snow in Brooklyn this late in the season. Everyday has been above freezing since Thanksgiving. It's good 'cause the fuel bill is lower than normal. Our magnolia looks like it wants to bloom! I guess winter went to Denver and stayed.
The most snow I've thusfar THIS year was the little bit that blew across CT Route 7 on the way to Bill's . . . and even THAT was enough to be mistaken for some airborne remnants of styrofoam roadkill . . .

Rick - I'm sure that there's something lurking for us here in the east... ya know... 2 feet one day, gone the next.

You'd better believe that...we had 60" by this time last year and this year have less than 11" but I think it's just delayed. We'll still get our share.

It was around 50 here just after Christmas, but now it's hanging around 32. Prefer that to the 4 days of constant rain we got over in Portland, except that now the smog is rolling in.
I hope to have some snow to throw at Miami's football team on Sunday. Sounds like a lot of those guys haven't seen snow before. A little snow on the blue turf would really confuse them.

When I lived in upstate New York we used to have winters that were like the conditions in Denver.
Since I've moved to Tennessee all New York gets are "Girlie-Man Winters". :D
