Location: Albuquerque, NM | I own a Balladeer model 4861-5. In trying to find what it is I went to the reference link but am now more confused than before. First, there doesn't appear to be a model that starts with 4 rather than 1. Second, the numeral 8 means shallow body but then the 6 which follows is supposed to mean deep-bowl cut-away. Anybody know about this model...Thanks! |

thanks for stopping by the site. Miles is working on getting all the seriel number stuff straight. There are some issues with them that he is trying to get worked out and will in the near future.
Perhaps in the mean time one of our posters can give you some info
or you can call the ovation service department and talk to John or Kim

Location: 6 String Ranch | the 4 means something and I can't remember what
the 8 refers to the preamp if that part of my memory is working.
61 would be a cutaway??
the -5 is noir. |

Location: NJ | 4861= Korean Standard Balladeer.
4= Pacific Rim manufacture
8= Shallow Bowl
6= Cutaway (evidently used to be deep bowl according to the chart, but AFAIK
means cutaway)
1= Balladeer
-5= black in color
this info came from the service department |

Location: 6 String Ranch | I knew I made it a 4 for a reason, to make it stand out to be easily identified. Just forgot why, sorry. |
