I have an Ovation "Stereo" Custom Legend that I bought new in 1981, it's been
one of my favorite Guitars, I have a problem with one side not amplifiying as
loud as the other, it does not matter if I'm plugged in to mono or stereo the low E, D, B are normal but the low A,G, high E are
less amplified
(not balanced) after 21 years I know the sound this Guitar should produce,
my problem is I have not been able to find a dealer I can trust to evaluate
this problem. It's probably not warranty work but I would like to find
someone to look
at my Guitar, any advice or information would be appreciated, my Model No. is
1619, Serial No. 222933 , I live in Kansas city, Ks. but I am close to Kansas
City
Missouri.
Thanks for you time

A friend of mine had the same problem about 20 years ago on a Legend Ltd. If I remember correctly there are two trim-pots inside the pre-amp, one for each set of three strings. The pots can be adjusted so the strings are correctly balanced. If my memory isn't playing tricks this is a fix you could easily do yourself. I could of course, be way off on this but customer service can confirm & then it's a 10 minute job for any competent tech

The first thing to check when the sound is unbalanced is how new the battery is. You probably already did that, Right?
