Would anyone happen to know why or how the
Adamas 1598 12 string, could have gotten a
headstock with the "Ovation" label and serial
number? I have one built in (I think)late 1998.
How many of these "oddballs" did the factory
ship out? Everything about it seems to be "pure Adamas". I even found one on the internet exactly like it at. Any information you all??

It is a real adamas for a short time the factory decided to itegrate the adamas line with the ovation line so they stopped putting Adamas on the headstock. This was a huge mistake in my opinion since it is my belief that the Adamas line has its own followers and is considered almost a separate guitar. It was always Adamas by ovation and hopefully will always be.

Thanks for that information Alpep!
I have a CS-245 12 string Ovation and just
let go a 2 year old Custom Legend that was
very nice. I bought this 1598-4G Adamas
having not seen it before I bought it and as
you stated.. .. I have been a little let down
that the headstock says "Ovation". Just a
feeling you have "stepped up" when you buy an Adamas! Yet no doubt my Custom Legend was built
just as good. Do you think this "oddball"
Adamas will end up with some collectors value?
