Location: California | I really want an acoustic guitar and I've decided to go with an Ovation and now I'm stuck trying to decide which one is the best bang for the buck. I can get the 1867 with the case for $899, or I can get the 35th Anniversary for $895 without the case...which one of these guitars is better and why? If I'm paying for a guitar that costs more just because it's limited production...I could care less about how many are made. I want the best value for the money. Any ideas? Thanks |

value is subjective. If that is not an issue to you then your choice is easy play each one buy the one that sounds best to you. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Close your eyes and play both. The one that sounds and plays better is the right one. You can always get a case somewhere. Interestingly, most of the people who bought the collectors guitars bought them for what the guitar did, not that it was a "collectable" Maybe that's different now? |

Location: The Great Pacific Northwest | As an extention of what cwk2 mentiones... If you find one model to be more pleasing than the other, follup by playing other examples of the model you chose. Every guitar plays a little different. It may be subtle and not noticeable, or it may be quite noticeable, but my point is.. If you are going to plop down a hunk of change, get the best you can (in your ears) for your money. |
