I have a Balladeer and on the registration card it claims to be a 1861-TB. I find no reference to this color code. The serial # is 491238. I had recieved e-mails from Mike Adams. He seemed puzzled as well. Any info would be a great thing.
Thanks

i would suspect that the "B" is for burst as in "TDB" which is teardrop burst according to ovation. the T alone as in TH is transparent (honey). what color is it? maybe teal or turquoise? the serial number makes it a 1995 according to ovations list, so maybe a misprint or a custom color?

The color fades from outer to inner from a cherry wood color to a dark blonde in a tear drop fashion. Because the paper work came from Ovation I am doudting a missprint unless it was suppossed to be a TDB. But I had thought the TDB had a black outer. Thanks for your input though. Maybe somebody remembers if the code used to be TB instead of TDB.

i saw a tamale burst once. lots of spicey pork tamales followed by too much tequila and warm beer. i sure hope your guitar looks better than that did.

Depends if it's gold or white. The gold tequilla and the beer would give it more of a yellowed center. White teq would make it look a little washed out, n'est pas?

tequila prices have gone through the roof down here with the better aged stuff costing way more than imported scotch. when we first started traveling here tequila was around $1 a liter for white and a good gold or aged was about$2 now it is around 10 times as much. however you can buy everclear (190 proof cane alcohol) for under $2 today. the usa has been on the tequila and corona kick for more than a decade. come to think of it, there are probably tamale bursts all over the usa too. is the mexican fad big in the uk too? we sure see a number of sailors here from the uk. most on a circumnavigation.

Is it true that if you eat the worm you can talk to God?

bill, you can talk to anybody by the time you get to the worm, but only god would be able to understand what you are saying. and the funny part is by the time you started at the top and got all the way to the worm ALL women look like goddesses. you might fall in love and find a 200 pounder flipping your tortillas the next morning. not good with a tequila hangover. us gringos sometimes call it "ta kill ya"

the stuff with the worm was traditionally "mezcal". it is even more damgerous than tequila and is always drunk straight with salt and lime. they both made from the agave which is a huge cactus. when you cut off all of the leaves there is a hig as a barrel core that they squeeze to make tequila. the worms are found in the core and are really the grub of some flying thing. the blue agave is what the most expensive tequila comes from. lots of weird stuff is fermented down here and to this day there are vendors that pass our house with big gourds full of the local pineapple jack hanging from a shoulder yoke. kind of like a wine. nothing goes unused here.

I've also heard that after mass consumption one can talk chineese. Your description of the morning after gives new meaning to Tamale-burst
