Sorry guys but Miles is complaining about the size of the jpgs. Large files, slow downloading, browser
scrolls sideways,....No good!
Well,...he and Al are the big bosses of this show....lets keep them happy!
Pictures deleted.
Hey Miles, next time you e-mail me, call me "elias" . No problem.

The "investigation" continues....

I now have some new ammunition in which to find out "20 or NOT 20" (Many thanks to Elias, Sam and Bill for the phone calls, it was certainly a pleasure talking to all of you).

Okay, so I don't have a label or any documentation,
this morning while I was leaving for work, I compared the neck width with that of my Custom Balladeer and I really don't see any appreciable difference (although I haven't yet put a scale to it), and there seems to be no previous precedent of any sort of "numbering" under the truss rod cover.

From what I've gathered from you fine, astute gentlemen is that I MIGHT find some sort of number written on the side of one of the braces.
My Quandary: the guitar is strictly ACOUSTIC and has no access door for electronics. I suppose I could ring the edges of the soundholes w/masking tape (for protection) and "probe around" with a little gooseneck mirror and a flashlight.

....Or....

I'm due to schedule a thorough exam with my physician. Being 46 years old (egads!) that may require the services of the dreaded "SCOPE" (ouch!).

Maybe I can bring the Adamas and "a twenty" and possibly get "Two For One" deal.
(With my luck, he'll forget which one doesn't get the "lube"!)

....it's beginning to sound like we may need to get all this s/n crap straightened out and gather all these things (and their owners) together in that lil' nightclub "down Mexico way"?

Al;

I guess 54 might be a possibility (although it dispels about 26 years of local legend - I hate when that happens!), but I know that my guitar was sold (by Ackerman's) to a child hood friend of mine by the name of Frank Pugliese.

I even have his original sales receipt that he gave me when I bought it from him.

hmmm....on to "the scope"!

THANX for takin' the time this morning!

OK, Al faxed me a copy of the list and it is the one I remember from the early days. Thanks Al I'll post it under a new heading. This will take some of the fun out of it, the mystery and the searching has a certain thrill, doesn't it?

hey bill, your next post makes 200!! i'll bet you didn't expect to have so many pen pals so quickly.

i guess with all of the recent chumming of the e bay waters i'll have to watch the horizon for adamas birds if i want to catch one when my piggy bank gets fat enough again. nursing a broken foot in front of the computer has made the ribs show on that little piggy. not a good thing for an ovation junkie. i'm already planning a special room for my expanding "big O" family.
