Since I lost (did I?) the previous battle (4 against one! wow!) I decided to follow my much respected complainants' advice and work more productively on more serious Ovation-related subjects (besides Al).

I was thinking that we have spent a rather decent amount of time talking about early and later Ovation guitars, specs guitar history, but how about the Ovation heroes? The people who wrote the Ovation history, especially the early ovation history , the people who worked hard to develop the roundbacks, those people who created and founded Ovation? Without them we wouldn't be here now to discuss all about Ovation guitars.
Of course, there is no doubt that old Charlie was the founder and without him nothing would exist.

But how about Jim Rickard?
Do people really know his significant and tremendous role in the history of Ovation? His contributions?
His revolutionary ideas, his accomplishments, his contributions to Ovation's success?

I could open the "History of the Ovation guitar" by Walter Carter, or other references I have, and quote many paragraphs and pages, but I think it's really important people who knew him personally, to step in and talk.

Bill, who else? please do the honor.

Elias, you're alright (I don't know how much of a compliment that is coming from me).

All I know about Jim Rickard is what I read in the book. I'd be interested in any insight as well.
