| why is the balladeer 4861 sold by sam ash called a balladeer and not a celebrity since it is made in korea? |

Location: Scotland | It's not just Ovation, Why is a Strat called a Strat when it's made in Mexico or Japan rather than Fullerton or Corona. There's plenty other examples. It's down to marketing & economics.

Location: 6 String Ranch | If it is one of the older (10+ years)Balladeers it's because it was built exactally to the Balladeer specs with the same material(supplied by Ovation)
The Celebrities are different specs and the Koreans have to get their own material.
If it is a new guitar I don't have an answer for you. |

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Hold on here!!! Are you guys telling me that the new Balladeers are now built in Korea??? I have never known balladeers to be built overseas..Balladeer is the first ovation model and has always been an American made,the basic ovation model..Please dont tell me they are now built in Korea? :( |

a couple of years ago there was a run of balladeers made in Korea. The powers to be soon saw the error of their ways and discontinued production.
I am not sure if these guitars were actually issued or if they wound up as a music super store chain item only.
I doubt if ovation makes much or anything on usa balladeers at their current price. |
