I have a 1111-1 serial 007196 that I purchased in late May 1973 or early June 1973 after my high school graduation. According to the "crack the code" 1972 ended with 007000 then 020000 picked up in 1974, What happened in 1973? I sent in my registration card, just wondering is it still on file? I made this purchase from a music warehouse "Texas Slim",for the sum of $199.50 plus shipping for a total of $205.00. The guitar listed(according to the original tag) retail $265.00. Was is made in"73"????

1973 was a very bad year for numbers, they went on strike so letters had to be used. In combining the letters words were made and often times these words were objectionable (this was the early 70's now remember). When this happened it very often got through the production line and wasn't caught till final inspection. The final inspectors were either born again christians or Jehova Witnesses. They soon took offence to every word and the entire production for that year was scrapped so as not to offend anyone. The Kaman Corporation stock took a sever hit and the factory forman lost his job. After that the strike with the numbers was settled and production was resumed in 1974.

(Since you bought your guitar in 1973 chances are pretty good that it was made early that year)

At that time at the factory things were usually heavily medicated, especially after lunch.

Sorry, it must have been a flashback. I'm OK now.

Was that strike in any way related to the Vowels strike over in the UK near Liverpool that still exists today?

More closely related to the air strike that was both shaken and stirred.

Mr O, if you think Liverpool dialect is bad, you need to do a tour of some other areas of UK.
Even we cant understand them ;)

Speaking of which.....the ONLY television show that I've EVER had to turn on the "closed captioning" in order to understand it was "The Osbournes"! (pretty damn funny, though!)

There are parts of thr US, just north of canoewoman that you need a translator to have a meaningful conversation. Of course if you're talking about huntin or fishin or bait you can make it on your own.

CWK2, you are undoubtedly referring to those areas where on canoe trips, I ALWAYS wear my sunvisor with the rebel flag on it! It can get scary back in those woods.
