Last saturday while using a pocketknife as a phillips screwdriver it folded back up on my thumb and severly cut right thumb. I have 6 stitches and things like typing writing etc are extemely painfull but what is really killing me is that I cannot play guitar and I have a new Hamer Monaco sitting here that I am dying to play along with a couple of new ovations that I want to try out a cvt and a classical. well now that I typed my limit for the day (I know since my hand is trobbing) I will stop venting but remind you all to take care of your hands

I'd gladly come down and offer you a hand (or at least a thumb) but I've got a full-blown band gig tonight and another one (benefit for Am. Cancer Soc.) tomorrow at 9:30 A.M.!!!!! (ouch!.....how did THAT happen?!?!) Sorry. When my daughter was little, she once had a project for school (miniature dugout canoe). Dad decides that this is a fine opportunity to pass along the fine art of woodcarving. After her suffering through my two hour diatribe on "Gouge Safety" (..always cut "away" from you...NEVER cut a piece that you're holding in your hand..etc.), she had a grand old time for a couple of hours without incident. When she was done I cleaned up after her, cleaned, sharpened, and honed the gouges. To test the sharpness, I "tested" one on a piece of scrap basswood (yes, held in my hand). Gouge slips, and Cliff gets a nice, new, 1/2" deep "smiley face" in the base of his left thumb (and through an artery). After an hour of "applied pressure" over the kitchen sink proved to no avail, I decided that embarassment outweighed severe blood loss and roused the women folk out of bed for the ER trek. I have YET to live THAT one down.
