Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | I am looking at possibly buying an Ovation from a pawn shop. The model # is 1117, and according to the seriel number, it was produced in 1981. As close a model # I can find, is a 1118, Which would be a Glen C ampbell Artist Balladeer.
The guitar is in nice shape. It has one small ding near the bottom of the wood front. Other than age lines in the finish, the top has some pulling under the bridge. The guitar has a nice aged natural woodtone, with the black/pearl ring, and pearl inlay on the fret board.
Sounds and plays nice, but I am unsure what it is worth. Any ideas out there?
Thanks,

Location: 6 String Ranch | 1117 is a Legend. That time period, straight acoustic, maybe $400. Offer him $200 and see what happens.
Maybe Samova or some of youse udder guys could give a better estimate on the price??? |

Location: SoCal | I would say offer $200, don't pay more than $300, but since I can't understand what cwk2 is saying (we don't talk that way in California), I really can't say anything at all. |

Location: Back in the Valley of the Sun Mesa Az. | Thanks for the replies. The guy is asking 265.00, and I was thinking more around the lines of 200.00.
Does anyone know if this 1117 Legend is a decent guitar or not? I played it a little in the pawn shop, but don't have any history to go by. |

Location: SoCal | They're decent guitars. Not much bass. I've got one and plan to string it Nashville. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | It's the middle of the lineup, a good guitar.
It was Balladeer, Legend, Custom Legend. Then the applesause and celeb got added below and Adamas and Elites on top. For $200ish it's hard to go far wrong. |
