Al;

He lives in Minnesota (not New Jersey).

I've spent a lot of time out there when I worked for 3M.

The people out there (even mechanics) actually have scruples!

Novel Concept.

On behalf of all Minnesotan's (except for our Gov. Jesse the Bod) I thank you for your compliment Cliff! Minnesota is a GREAT place to live. Taxes are a little high, but worth it.

Hey Cliff, did you work at the 3M plant off 94 and McKnight Rd.? My sister worked there for several years in the department where they developed new types of adhesives. I grew up in St. Paul (great town), but moved "up north" to lake country (better known as "God's Country")back in 88. Thought I'd died and went to heaven!

Norse;

Didn't really work at at "plant" (or "out there").
I was a field service technician working on electronic file management, engineering, and medical equipment here in the Northeast. 3M used to fly me out there for three week long training stints a couple times a year at the world headquarters building. Spent a lot of weekends in downtown St. Paul (NICE city!).

Came away from there with two things:

1. The correct proceedure for starting a cheesy rent-a-car in the midst of a Minnesota winter (not an easy task).

b. Fond memories of certain "gentlemen's establishment" located in the middle of the farmlands of (I believe it might have been "Hudson") Wisconsin, known as the "Loch Ness Lounge". (Best left to recount another time on a totally different forum).

Yeah, Al
Fortunately (for them), they don't know what REAL taxes are like (or traffic for that matter).

The Loch Ness! Just across the St. Croix river on 35 heading to Somerset, Wis. I used to play at a place called The Sportsman in Somerset. Ever float the Apple River?

Small world!

p.s. Hey canoewomen, if your out there, thanks for the reply, I'll e-mail you later!

Close enough Cliff (different location/same result)!

State bird joke GOOD ONE! Actually the state bird is the red eyed loon (beautiful to listen to as they echo their call across the lake), but come November, I think it's probably the red eye to Arizona (LOT of snowbirds that fly south no douibt). I for one celebrate winter. I don't think I could get used to living without the change of seasons we experience up here. About the time you get tired of the cold, it's hot, and vise-versa. I had a friend move to San Deigo, he felt like he was in a time warp. He said it was like being Bill Murray in "Ground Hog's Day".Of course, the average day was pretty darn nice.
