Location: Pensacola, FL | I am trying to find a case for my Celebrity cc53. I have measured the guitar and have found some Ovation cases on eBay. Some of the auction descriptions have the dimensions, so I can tell if my guitar will fit the case. The one I most want is a "Ovation 8210 Deep Bowl Hardshell Case". I have asked the seller for the dimensions, but apparently he's a business not open on the weekend and has not answered.
PROBLEM: Another case auction ends tonight (well before the 8210 auction) which has the correct dimensions, but costs much more. The seller describes it: "case is for the Ovation 10 year anniversary model 12 string acoustic guitar."
I will gladly wait for the cheaper 8210 if I know it will fit, but am reluctant to pass up the auction tonight for a case that I already KNOW will fit. Anyone know if an 8210 will hold a CC53? Help much appreciated!
Thanks, |

Location: 6 String Ranch | Try one of you local music stores, bring the guitar and try on the cases. At least that might give you an idea of what you're looking for. Either get that one or then go E-Baying. |

| I remember seeing case descriptions on material published by Ovation (4" X 11" brochure). May also be on their website. There are basically 3 sizes, super-shallow, mid-depth and full-depth. Then there are different grades like standard, delux, etc. Regardless of grade, if your guitar is mid-depth, for example, any mid-depth Ovation case should fit.
If you don't get assistance from Ovation, try www.musiciansfriend.com or www.music123.com and read their case descriptions provided along with the model number.
If all else fails, go to the local Ovation dealer and see what fits or measure the cases. You can identifiy by model number or have your Ebay seller measure also and you'll know if you have a match.
Good luck.

Location: Pensacola, FL | Many thanks to both E-man and Alpep for the help. With the good information from the two sites recommended by E-man and the list of models and sizes from Alpep, Oldan was able to determine that I need an 8210, 9158 or 8158. Now on to eBay to find one!
I think this matter has been successfully concluded.
Thanks again. :D |
